Eating out during Ramadan is a logistical puzzle: maghrib shifts every day, kitchens get slammed in a 30-minute window, and many venues run special menus.
Reserve, don't walk in
Successful iftar restaurants take reservations and seat in waves. Booking 24 hours ahead is the difference between a calm meal and standing on the pavement.
Arrive 20 minutes before maghrib
Dates and water should be on the table when adhan is called. If a venue can't promise that, choose another.
Suhoor is the underrated meal
A handful of restaurants in Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö now run late-night suhoor service. YaHalalo flags them with a Suhoor available badge during Ramadan.
Tip generously
Staff are fasting too. A 15–20% tip during Ramadan is a small kindness that goes a long way.
