These Terms of Service govern your use of YaHalalo's website and any related services. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully — if anything here doesn't make sense or you disagree with it, please contact us before continuing to use the service.
Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using YaHalalo, creating an account, or submitting content (such as a review or a business listing), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you're using YaHalalo on behalf of a business, you confirm you have the authority to accept these terms for that business.
What YaHalalo is (and isn't)
YaHalalo is a directory that helps people find restaurants, cafés and shops serving halal food, built on community reviews and evidence submitted by restaurant owners. Our verification badges reflect the evidence a restaurant has provided and, where applicable, admin review of that evidence — they are not a religious ruling or a certification issued by an Islamic authority, and we encourage anyone with specific dietary concerns to confirm details directly with the restaurant.
Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials secure — you're responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Content you submit
When you post a review, photo, tip, or other content, you keep ownership of it but grant YaHalalo a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display, distribute and use it as part of the service. You're responsible for what you post: it must be honest, based on genuine experience, and must not be defamatory, fraudulent, harassing, or infringe anyone else's rights. We may remove content that violates these terms without prior notice.
Business verification
If you submit a business for listing or verification, you confirm that the information and evidence you provide is accurate and that you're authorised to represent that business. YaHalalo reviews submitted evidence in good faith but doesn't guarantee any particular outcome, and reserves the right to reject, suspend or revoke a verification at any time if evidence is found to be inaccurate, outdated, or fraudulent.
Ordering and payments
Online ordering and payment are not yet live on YaHalalo — the checkout experience currently only lets you browse a restaurant's menu. When ordering does go live, separate terms covering payment, delivery, cancellation and refunds will apply, and we'll update this page accordingly before enabling real transactions.
Prohibited uses
You may not use YaHalalo to scrape or harvest data at scale, attempt to bypass rate limits or security measures, impersonate another person or business, upload malicious code, or use the service for any unlawful purpose. Violating this may result in immediate account termination and, where appropriate, being reported to relevant authorities.
Intellectual property
The YaHalalo name, logo, and the design and code of this website belong to us and may not be copied or reused without permission, aside from the licence you grant us over content you post yourself as described above.
Third-party services and links
YaHalalo relies on third-party services (such as maps and prayer-time data) and may link to restaurants' own websites or ordering platforms. We're not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service or website.
Disclaimer
YaHalalo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to keep listing information accurate and up to date, but restaurant details (including halal status, hours, and menus) can change, and we don't guarantee the completeness or accuracy of any listing.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, YaHalalo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including any loss resulting from relying on a restaurant's halal status as shown on the platform. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded under Swedish or EU consumer protection law.
Termination
You may stop using YaHalalo and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, without prior notice where the violation is serious (such as fraud or abuse).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of YaHalalo will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Swedish courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service as the service evolves. We'll update the "last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll make a reasonable effort to let registered users know before they take effect.
