How we rank

The order of our lists is there to help you find the right place, not to sell spots. Here is the full explanation.

The order in search and lists

When you search or browse, we compare places in this order. Each point only decides when two places are equal on the ones before it.

How well the place matches what you searched for.
The distance, if you chose to share your location or searched around an address.
Whether the place is in your city.
YaHalalo's status: verified first, then those we are reviewing, then the rest.
Whether you can reach the place, i.e. it has a phone number or website.
The rating, where there is one.
How many visitors have asked us to verify the place.

You can always choose another order yourself, for example by distance or rating.

There is no paid placement today. No restaurant has paid for its position in any list.

When sponsored spots arrive in 2027 they will always be labelled “Sponsored”, kept apart from the order above, and will never change that order.

Verification is free and based only on evidence: certificates, suppliers and routines. Payment never affects the badge, the status or our review.
